2008 - Alpha Tau Omega Top Chapter Award
The Top Chapter Award, which was established in 1998, recognizes the best ATO Chapter in the nation.
There were approximately 160 chapters of Alpha Tau Omega across the nation in 2008 and the Epsilon Gamma Chapter at the University of Maryland was recognized as being the best.
This was the second time in three years that Epsilon Gamma received this award.
2008 - Alpha Tau Omega True Merit Chapter
The True Merit Award was first established in 1969 as the Chapter Efficiency Award, becoming the Fraternity's first official award. In 1975, the name of the award changed to the Chapter Excellence Award and finally in 1979, the name changed to the True Merit Award. True Merit Award is awarded to as many chapters who achieve a level of chapter operation that is worthy of the recognition.
2008 - Krahling Bronze Communication Award
The Krahling Bronze Communication Award recognized the third best chapter in regards to communication efforts. This award recognizes a chapter that achieved outstanding overall communication efforts to alumni, prospective members, the public, the University, and the campus community.
2008 - Special Mention Erskine Mayo Ross IMPACT Award for Outstanding Charitable Giving
This Award is named in honor of founder Ross, whose original gift of $5,000 in 1935 established the ATO Foundation. The Award recognizes chapters who exemplify outstanding charitable giving in their communities and beyond.
2008 - Alpha Tau Omega Excellence in Scholarship Award
This award recognizes chapters that achieve a 3.0 GPA or above over the course of an entire academic year.
2008 - Honorable Mention Good Samaritan Community Service Award
This Award, presented annually by the ATO Foundation, recognizes chapters for exemplary achievement in fostering a spirit of services to others through a well-conceived and implemented chapter social service program.
2008 - Alpha Tau Omega Recruitment Advantage Excellence Award
Established in 2003, the Award annually recognizes ATO's chapters that demonstrate an overall excellence in chapter recruitment with a special emphasis on chapter growth, yearlong recruitment and a high level of retention from pledging to initiation
2008 - Upper Alpha Award
Established in 1996, the Award recognizes ATO's top Board of Trustees which provides exceptional leadership and service to a chapter.

Established in 1992, this Award is presented to the chapter with the best overall communication efforts including public relations, recruitment campaign and campus and community relations.

2005 - North American Interfraternity Council Award of Distinction
The NIC Award of Distinction is the highest recognition a fraternity can be nominated for and awarded. In 2006 there were approximately 5,500 NIC fraternity chapter and the Epsilon Gamma Chapter was awarded as being one of the top three.
Accourding to the NIC the "The NIC’s Awards of Distinction recognize the people and groups who make a difference for fraternities. These men advance the ideals of fraternity in their daily lives. They are committed to brightening the future of fraternity and ensuring that fraternities are living to their espoused mission and values."
A chapter that receives this award "cares about the greater good... is motivated by the success of others... identifies the needs of the community and works to meet those needs... lives the ritual of the fraternity, at all times... holds others accountable to the standards of the group... has excellence in scholarship... provides ethical leadership for the community... values service to and for others... represents the diversity of their campus... stands firm in the face of adversity... provides assistance to others, before being asked... is cutting edge and different from the rest... carries the flag of interfraternal spirit."
